An official compilation version of this mix was released in March 2008 by Soul Jazz Records on double CD and quadruple vinyl. The mix itself was originally recorded for the Blogariddims podcast series.

We've always had an interest in local talent and from when we started buying records in the '90s we were drawn to rappers like Blak Twang, Rodney P and Roots Manuva, whose lyrics described life in urban Britain and made reference to the peculiarities of British culture. The received wisdom then was that MCing could only be done well by Americans and at the time many UK rappers seemed compelled to adopt mid-Atlantic accents. We felt, and still feel, that one of the best ways in which British MCs can really and fashion their own identity was and is to draw on the unique relationship that the UK has with the Caribbean.

A Heatwave Affair

The Heatwave har hatt en affair med BBC og laget en times lang mix for radioshowet på statskanalen i UK kalt Rob Da Bank and Friends show . Mixen har fått navnet The A to Z of The Heatwave;

An hour long trip through the alphabet of our favourite artists.

Anthems from our club sets and influential tracks from days gone by, blended together to create something of a manifesto for the Heatwave sound.

From Alison Hinds to Zebra, Flow Dan to U Roy, Jay-Z to The Stone Roses and Mr Vegas to Pinch.

Beenie Man x 3

Stephen "Di Genius" McGregor slipper enda ei energibombe av ei låt, igjen og igjen og igjen. Beenie Man spytter bra på denne, men må si det er riddimen som skinner mest her. Refrenget er også ganske så elskbart; gimmegimmegimmegimmegimme (gidder ikke skrive mer, men det stopper aldri!). Man slipper hvertfall å lure på hva låta heter når man hører den.
Its a Heatwave Affair! Nok en gang er de ute med en syk refix, denne gangen er det Beenie Man og Wiley i hovedrollene. De fleste som går på klubb må ha hørt Wearing My Rolex som sikkert har blitt remixa hundrevis av ganger, men denne refixen gjør det verdt å høre den drøye "grime"/rave/techno/dunno -beaten en gang til. Den første låta er en bandittfavoritt som har blitt ropt pull up mer enn tre ganger på rad, Feskos knows! Dancehall geeks inna di car haha..

The Badman Commandments

Jao! Kom over en post på Heatwave bloggen fra UK om The Badman Commandments som har vært på trykk i første utgaven av Woofah.

Mange dancehall tunes har linjer som nevner hva en badman gjør og hva han ikke burde gjøre eller instrukser på hvordan man kan være en god badman (Bajong u dig?). "Badman går ikke i rosa" som han badman Chief Guttiwulf sir på "Hip hop jam".

Et par artister er ganske ivrig/overivrig med sine anbefalinger. Artistene er vell ikke av de som er mest rightous så tror ikke mange føler en trang til å følge dem ordrett som muslimer og andre religøse som liker commandments.
